DIY Equipment Ideas

with Prof. Randy Snook

Would you like to know how to create the look of a Petzval lens with its swirly bokeh without spending hundreds and hundreds of dollars? How about the look of a “Lensbaby” for $15? Or a lens hood for pennies? DIY (do it yourself) photography is both fun and a huge money saver! Come join Prof. Randy Snook as he shows you how to make six different photographic accessories that are both practical and inexpensive.

Randy Snook is an author, photographer and educator based in Northern California. He has taught photography full-time at Sierra College in Rocklin, California for the past eighteen years. Before that, he was an advertising photographer in Sacramento. Randy has published two books, "Fathers & Sons: photographs, quotes and essays" and "Many Ideas Open The Way: a collection of Hmong Proverbs." His photographic interests are broad and eclectic. Projects range from photographing around the world for a variety of Christian ministries, to alternative photographic processes to illustrating children's books. And, he loves to help his students make their own photographic accessories.

Meetings are held at Unity in the Gold Country Church, 180 Cambridge Ct, Grass Valley, CA. Visitors are welcome
